I wrote this song while to the sound of windshield wipers when I was stuck in traffic in the rain. This song is about learning to see the positive in everything. Nietzche once said, "What doesn't kill us makes us stronger." He also said, "To those human beings who are of any concern to me I wish suffering, desolation, sickness, ill-treatment, indignities - I wish that they should not remain unfamiliar with profound self-contempt, the torture of self-mistrust, the wretchedness of the vanquished: I have no pity for them, because I wish them the only thing that can prove today whether one is worth anything or not - that one endures." What he means by this is that we need the struggles in order to become better people, to learn from experience, and to appreciate the good times.
